PORT JEFFERSON — Samuel Robert "Bob" Doak Jr., age 79, of Port Jefferson, passed away January 13, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
Bob was born July 2, 1941 in Sidney, to the late Samuel Robert Doak Sr. and the late Mildred (Welbaum) Doak. He married Barbara (Lightle) Doak on October 8, 1960, and she survives in Port Jefferson. Also surviving are sons; Robert Wayne (Donna) Doak of Sidney, Kenneth E. (Eva) Doak of Sidney, grandchildren; Andrew Doak Titeka Richardson, Bryan (Nikki) Doak, Kyle L. (Kelli) Doak, Benjamin Doak, great-grandsons; Wyatt James Doak, Samuel Kenneth Doak, Huxley Edward Doak and brother, Daniel (Martha) Doak of Holly Hills, Florida, nephew, David (Lisa) Doak, niece, Annette Madden of Holly Hills, Florida, four great nieces and one great nephew.
Bob worked for many years for the Sidney Fire Department, Shelby County Fire Department, Quincy Fire Department and Port Jefferson Fire Department. He retired after 20 years of faithful service from Wilson Health, Sidney. Bob loved his life working for the various fire departments and listening for his pager so he could help his fellow man. He was an avid fan of NASCAR. He loved Barbara deeply and they were married over 60 years. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons. Bob had many friends and extended family, who all loved him so much! He will always be remembered for his big smile and for being so ornery.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson. Time of service is at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Clem officiating.
Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.

You will be missed and always loved. I will always have a spot in my heart for Bob. I have known him and his family my entire life. He was always a joy to talk to and to joke around with. You were a great person. Rest in Peace our former firefighter.
