SIDNEY - Steven Lee Fleckenstein, age 76, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Wilson Health in Sidney. He was born on February 1, 1945 in Sidney to the late Edward and Ethel (Miller) Fleckenstein. On September 3, 1977, he married Diane (Haddix) Fleckenstein and she survives.
Steve is also survived by two daughters: Debonair (Forrest) Sherman and Brandi (Jason Long) Fleckenstein, both of Sidney; one sister: Barbara (Charles) Staley of Sidney; grandchildren: Chrysler Sherman, Jay Sherman, Ciera Long and Carson Long; and great grandson: Paxton VanFossen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson: Caleb Long.
Steve proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Rosewood United Methodist Church. Steve retired from APTechno Glass in Bellefontaine. He was a 43 year member of AA and very proud of this fact. Steve was an avid photographer, especially enjoying outdoor scenes. He loved cars and airplanes, but above all loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Andy Leighty officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco with full military honors provided by US Army and Shelby County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Association, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.theadamsfuneralhome.com.
