Barbara Therasse Obituary

Barbara Dawn Therasse January 26, 1930 passed peacefully on July 23, 2023 in Valencia, California
Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan to Frederick and Mildred (nee Cousins) Williams. Barbara married
the love of her life, Nelson Therasse on October 1, 1949 and they were together until his passing in
January 2013. Nelson and Barbara moved to Florida after their wedding only to return to Michigan a
few years later. They moved to Saugus, California in August 1965 where they lived until Nelson's
passing. Barbara moved to Sunrise at Sterling Canyon in Valencia in July 2017 where she remained until
her passing. Nelson and Barbara loved their cabin in Bouquet Canyon, traveling to the beach, Florida,
and Las Vegas.
Barbara is survived by her son Terry (Kim) of Canyon Country, Nancy Yoacham (Robert) of Litchfield, AZ,
and Gail DiTommaso (Anthony) of Minden, NV and her grandchildren David (Maria) Therasse, Donielle
(Byron) Hodges, Shane (Kendra) Yoacham, Natasha (Branden) Kavanagh, Steven (Elaya) DiTommaso and
Terrah (Damian) Yoacham, and her ten great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to the staff at Sunrise for your loving care.
Service will be provided by Eternal Valley, Newhall CA with viewing on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from
5pm to 9pm and graveside services on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10am. In lieu of flowers please
make a donation in Barbara's name to the Humane Society of America or the USO
