George Esser Obituary

George Esser
December 25, 2024
George Edward Esser, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 78 after bravely battling a long illness.
Born in Tampa, Florida, George was the son of George Esser Sr. and Dorothy Dillin Threet. A proud graduate of Hover High School, George served honorably in the California National Guard and was a passionate supporter of military organizations and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He loved his country deeply and carried that patriotism throughout his life.
Beyond his military service, George made a lasting impact in various fields. He was the inventive mind behind the "Glove Caddy," a useful accessory for golfers, and had a successful career in the movie industry, where he designed and built trailers for movie sets. As a prominent HR professional in the IT field, George was known for his expertise and leadership, which earned him respect among colleagues and peers.
George also had a deep love for animals, particularly racing Greyhounds. Along with Charlie, his lifelong dear friend, they owned and operated a racing kennel that competed nationally, showcasing his skill and dedication to the sport. When they were not racing Greyhounds, they were breeding and racing pigeons-a passion that brought them joy and strengthened their bond.
A survivor of a heart transplant, George received this life-saving procedure at the renowned UCLA Medical Center Cardiac Unit, a testament to his strength and resilience in the face of health challenges.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Denise; his stepson, William Feek; his brother, David; and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Esser Sr. and Dorothy Dillin Threet, and his brother, Mitchel.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where loved ones will come together to honor and remember George's remarkable life and legacy.
