Mark Bozman Obituary

7/27/1961 – 9/10/2008

Mark Bozman, 47, a long time resident of the Santa Clarita Valley passed away on September 10, 2008.

Raised on a Gentleman's farm in Eagle, Idaho, Mark culminated his life as a renowned cameraman of 30 years. He later parlayed his gift of photography into his own business of specialty camera work for television.

As an Air Switcher he cut his teeth at a small television station in Boise, Idaho. Mark quickly moved up the ranks to become a top-notch cameraman, a "jack of all trades" honing his talent and inherent gifts. Mark later moved to California and was purposefully 'apprehended' by the TV series, Cops, only to be 'pulled over' by the LAPD Life on the Beat TV series.

Mark's innovative vision saw the need for specialty cameras, which propelled him to create a niche for himself in reality TV shows. Being in the right place at the right time, Mark and his business partner, Pete Lucas, founded Digital Point of View (DPOV) Inc. and established themselves as the leading source of specialty camera rentals.

Mark lived in Santa Clarita, CA and is survived by his wife Shannon; his three sons, Erik, Zachary, and Jacob; his mother, Carol, his stepfather, Ray; his brother, Scott; his sister Kathy, and many loving friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bozman family residence.

In lieu of flowers, Mark's wife Shannon is requesting that donations be made to the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) Stand up to Cancer (SU2C) program.

Mark,
It's coming up on two months since we had to let you go and I still have trouble thinking about a world without you in it. I"ll stay in touch with Shannon and the kids and help watch out for them. You know how important you were to me and I will always remember you and our friendship. Find Paul and Keith and let them know you are a friend of mine. They'll take care of you up there. Miss you dude.

You went far Mark. I did not know you but it looks like you really lived more than most of us. You look loved too. So sad but hope your family knows you watch from above or beside them.

Its been just over a month since the accident and I still can't believe what happened. I enjoyed the visits with Boz during the past 15 years when we discussed family, work, politics, world views, etc. Boz had a certain charm and sincerity about him that caused people to feel happy and comfortable in his presence. That aura will surely be missed by his many friends and especially by his family members, who have greatly suffered his passing. "Hey dude", we'll always love you!

I worked with Boz on a half dozen different television shows. He always had an interesting story to tell us on set. I felt sad when I heard the news that he had passed on.... I feel more sad for the people who never met him. He was a very friendly and personable guy.

Mark, WE'RE ALL GONNA MISS YOU.

Shannon and boys,
I worked with Boz at Ch. 7 and he taught me so much about being a good reporter--and how to write to pictures. I'm so sorry for your loss. Boz was a great guy.

Mark and Pete have been a team for such a long time I feel as if I have known him that long as well. Mark was Pete's best man at his wedding. Mark was there for Pete when Pete was so very ill. They endured road trips, long hours, and all the excitement of DPOV. They saw each other through births of children. And they so enjoyed the times in the desert, riding the dirt bikes. My thoughts and love to Shannon and all of Mark's family. Mark will always be alive within us all.
