Marlene Skophammer Obituary

Marlene Sue Skophammer was born to Faylon and Pearl (Verbeek) Faltys on December 24, 1932 in West Point, Nebraska. She passed away December 10, 2018 at the Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tekamah, Nebraska, following pneumonia due to a long battle with lung cancer.
During her youth, Marlene spent time in many parts near West Point. Her family finally settled in Tekamah, where she graduated in the Class of 1950. On August 14, 1954, Marlene was married to Paul Michael Skophammer in Orange County, California, and remained married for 64 wonderful years. Mike and Marlene lived their younger lives in Santa Clarita, California and raised 5 very
active sons. Upon retirement in 1993, Mike and Marlene moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota and bought a nonanimal and non-crop farm. In 2001, they moved to Tekamah where they enjoyed Husker Football, worldwide travel and multiple sporting events.
Marlene was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl in 2003. She is survived by her husband, Paul; five sons: Richard of Rolling Hills Estates, CA, David and Joseph both of Palmdale, CA, Paul of Malibu, CA, Robert of Cheyenne, WY; 9 grandchildren: Ryan, Jason, Lauren, Dane, Stephanie, David, Alyssa, Nicholas and Karina; and 9 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
