Patrick Shaughnessy Obituary

1965 – 2014

Patrick M. Shaughnessy, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. He was born on March 25, 1965. As a young boy and teenager he was a gifted baseball player. He enjoyed drawing, music, and riding motorcycles. Patrick was a resident of Canyon Country, CA.

He is survived by his mother Jeannie Nelson, his stepfather Donald Nelson, his sisters and brothers, and dear friend, Dani. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Patrick M. Shaughnessy.

Patrick was laid to rest on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Eternal Valley Memorial Park, Newhall, CA 91321.

Happy Thanksgiving my love!!!!! I really have been missing you this week. With all the holiday cartoons coming on I can't help but think of you and how we watched them together whether it was in person or while talking over the phone. I know you are always with me and that you have been guiding me in a certain direction. I have been thinking about the last two Thanksgivings we share together. Hi sweetheart!!!! My friend Johnny and I went to visit you today and had our own little memorial service for you. Johnny said a lovely prayer and read some scriptures from the Bible. Remembering Patrick
Some of the good times with Patrick and his Dad. We used to go out Lake Hughes Road to a spot on the east point of Castaic dam before it was completed and fish, skip rocks on the lake and have a good time, we just didn't do it often enough.
Patrick came to visit Don and Jeannie in the late 70's, when George and Barbara my wife Tina and me all lived in or near Bryan, Texas. My wife and I had a small place in the country on Camp Arrow Moon Road.We all we got together out there.When Patrick saw my old 2 banger John Deere tractor he had to run it. I'm not sure what his Mom thought, as long as she didn't say no it was fine with me. Patrick climbed up on it cranked it up and it started that familiar pop pop pop sound those tractors make and he was off and running just like he did it every day, all of this just doesn't seem that long ago yet it was. I offer my deepest sympathy to his family and those who loved him so much, he will always be in my heart and memory.

Sweet Patrick have so much to say that I need to collect my thoughts...you are so missed my friend that much is for sure. You sure had a treasure in your loving girlfriend, Dani. Having only talked on the phone and online, it gives me some comfort to know you shared the rest of your life with her. My heart aches so much all over again, as it did when I first found out that you had left us on this place we call earth. Visiting my family in Santa Clarita. So sad to see this in the paper. Pat was a beautiful person. We were friends when we were 15-18. Remember having a lot of fun times in our teens.
