Sally Barton
March 25, 1937 - November 14, 2024
Valencia - Sally Dykstra Barton, aged 87, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Valencia, CA.
Born on March 25, 1937, Sally dedicated much of her life to the field of education, serving as a Teaching Assistant within the Newhall and Wm. S. Hart High School Districts, where she touched the lives of countless students through her kindness and nurturing spirit. Sally graduated from Victor Valley High School and furthered her education at Mt. San Antonio College, which laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. Known for her considerate and thoughtful nature, she was well-loved by all who knew her. An avid reader and camper, Sally enjoyed RV'ing across the United States and Canada, crafting, and spending quality time with her family and many friends. These activities reflected her love for adventure and her creative spirit. Sally is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert D. Barton; daughters, Susanne Barton and Tina Barton-Torp (Joseph Torp); granddaughters, Faith Torp, Jolyn Torp, Brothers John (Bobbi) Dykstra and Charles (Judy) Dykstra and their families. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Nick & Ann Dykstra and great granddaughter Tinnley Harmon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vietnam Veterans of America and the Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Sally.
Her legacy of kindness, passion for education, and love for her family will forever be cherished and remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
