Sylvia Arlene Brackebush walked into Jesus' loving arms March 18, 2024. She was born April 1, 1937 to Ruth and Nels Gullikson in Seattle, Washington. At 5, she and her older brother moved to Stanwood and were raised on a farm by their Aunt Laura and Uncle Henry Christiansen. By 12, Sylvia was working at Seattles historic Playland. She had fond memories of working as The Headless Woman while her brother worked at Playland's Speedway. She and her brother remained close for life. Sylvia became a popular server in the Seattle area and owned The Terrace Tavern (Renton) by age 30. Later, in Buckley, Washington she owned and operated The Century Cafe and was president of The Chamber of Commerce. Sylvia has also been a beautician, card dealer, barista, champion roller skater and lover of dancing. She regularly volunteered in her church and served food to the needy. In 2010 she move to California to be closer to family and again became a favorite of travelers when McDonalds hired her to cashier at the age of 74. In Later years Sylvia enjoyed time with family, friends, her Bible study group and, of course, dancing weekly at her senior center, Bella Vida. Sylvia leaves behind 3 daughters, Ahva Lenay, Tricia (Tim) Guest and Stayci (Dan) Donihue as well as 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many friends.
Services will be held April 27, from 1pm to 4pm at Northlake Clubhouse located at 32142 Elkridge Road, Castaic, CA 91384
In her wake she leaves a legacy of love.
