Brian Jacob Corey, 52, of Wellston, OK, formerly of Sioux City, IA was called home by the Lord on June 5, 2023. He was born on January 6, 1971, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Nick and Carol Corey.

Brian was a charismatic and witty individual, known for his sense of humor and his ability to make friends easily anywhere he went and always made you feel loved and welcome.

Brian attended East High School, graduating in 1989. He later pursued higher education at WITCC, where he obtained a degree in Renewable Fuels in 2010.

Brian worked in various types of sales most of his life and 'could sell the Brooklyn Bridge' to anyone! After graduation he transitioned to become an Ethanol Operator at Plymouth Energy in Merrill, IA. He later called himself a 'farmer' and loved to tend to his "plants."

Brian lived a unique life-style from one end of the spectrum to the other, but he was always made to do great things with his life here on earth, and anyone who had a chance to visit with him could visualize his ideas.

Brian had a very funny sense of humor and could always make anyone laugh.

He enjoyed engaging in practical jokes on family and friends and telling his stories in humorous detail. Brian was a true maestro of mirth, a comedic genius who left us all in stitches. He loved to fish and always had a story to tell. He loved to travel with his family, amusement park rides, and making memories!

Brian was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church in Sioux City, Iowa and served as an altar boy through his late teens with his cousins and church friends. He loved to tell stories of the mischief they would be up to during church service.

Brian married Trudi Cummings (Wanamaker) in 2000, blending their family of five children: Samantha (Dakota) Tuton of Sioux City, Nicole (Sam) Chernock of Homer, NE, Morgan Corey of Lincoln, NE, Nathaniel Corey of Sioux City and Nollan "Noah" Corey of Sioux City; and his grandchildren, Preston, Parker, and Paisley Bursell of Sioux City, IA, Jaxon and Liam Chernock of Homer, NE, and Penelope and Jiraiya Corey of Lincoln, NE.

Brian is survived by his wife Trudi Corey; his parents, Nick and Carol Corey; his sister, Rebecca (David) Suhr; his sister Lori Anne Gann and his FAVORITE brother, John Mathew Corey all of Sioux City; and his sister-in-law, Amanda (Chris) Wanamaker of Hornick, IA.

Brian was the "cool" uncle who loved all his nieces and nephews: Ronee Pickens; Abigail, Alexis and David Suhr; Tucker and Baily Sitzmann and Grace Anne Lefebvre and many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the country.

Brian is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Norabelle Hayes; his paternal grandparents, Ferris and Selma Corey; his aunt and uncle Ruth and Bob Corey; his aunts Esther McDaniels, Marian Hayes and Donna Hayes; his uncle Bill Hayes, his in-laws Ron and Linda Wanamaker, his brother-in-law Ronnie Gann and his cousins Nora McDaniels, Bobby Hayes, Dr. Vergil Heyer, Lynn Heyer, Mindy Brown, Holly Donaldson.

Brian Jacob Corey's warmth, kindness and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his memory be eternal and serve as a guiding light, reminding us to embrace each day with gratitude and love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 9/16/2023, from 2 pm-8 pm at:
