SERGEANT BLUFF - Donna Claudette Drea, 91, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 21, at Waterbury Funeral Services of Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Oto, Iowa at 12:30pm following the memorial service. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2023, at 4125 Orleans Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa.
Donna was born April 28, 1932, to Hans and Dorothy (Brent) Green of Rodney, Iowa. She attended Smithland Public School, graduating with the Class of 1950. Donna continued her education at the University of South Dakota but returned home upon her father's death to help her Mother and young brother. She married Mick Drea on January 5, 1952, and together, they raised five children while actively involved with many aspects of the farm. Donna completed a degree in accounting at Western Iowa Tech and worked for Gateway Computers until her retirement in 2004.
Donna enjoyed visiting friends and family. She also could not wait to attend any dance she could get Mick to attend. In addition to her love for dancing, Donna was an avid learner, taking swimming lessons, exercise classes, ballroom dance classes, and obtaining her solo license in flying. Being a social butterfly, she was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, dance, church, and travel social circles, as well as the Brent family reunion.
Survivors include her four children, Terry of Los Angeles, CA; Greg (Lori) of Hornick, IA; Cindy (Myles) Konopasek of Yankton, SD; Brett (Nichole) Drea of Ankeny, IA; ten grandchildren; Lexa, Cassi, Alex, Niki, Drew, Brennan, Brandon, Kaylee, Makenna, and Brayden, nine great-grandchildren; Colton, Mia, Ellie, Beau, Skyla, Cam, Dylan, Amelia, Casey Seuntjens; one brother Mick (Theresa) Green of Madison, SD; and one sister in law Janice (Lee) West of Barnsdall, OK.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mick Drea; her son, Maurey; her parents; father-in-law, Matt Drea; mother-in-law, Florence (Singleman) Drea; brother-in-law ,Ken Volk; sister-in-law, Gerry Volk Meylor; and nephew, Patrick Farber.

So sorry for Donna Drea family. My family and other families went on a ski trip on a bus to steamboat springs. I remember Mr Peterson singing "good morning good morning and so on. On that ski trip Donna had broken her leg. Good times. Greg so sorry about your mom. Hugges! Gaby

Donna and I worked together at Gateway. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Always smiling and walking to be healthy. Hugs to the family.
