Gary Fridley, 81, died October 25, 2025. Visitation on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. Memorial service on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Fridley opened the world of stringed instruments to young lives like mine. I have many fond memories of his patient instruction with our wiggly fingers, screechy notes, and his steady encouragement as we learned. He shared his love of music in countless ways-whether through private lessons or driving students in his VW bus to state competitions (creeping ever so slowly up the Hwy 20 hills!) or loaning his violin bridge mic so I could share the sound of an electric violin with other students at Hoover Jr. High.
People like Mr. Fridley are truly priceless-teachers whose passion and kindness make the world a more beautiful place!
