June 22, 1942 - January 16, 2025
James John Howard, 82, of Gilbert, AZ, previously from Sioux City, IA, passed away on January 16, 2025, after a five month battle with cancer. Jim was born in LeMars, IA to Leonard and Marie Howard of Granville, IA where he grew up with a sister Dianne. Jim married Cheryl Andersen of Sioux City, IA, on June 26, 1976 and were married for 48 years. They were blessed to have one daughter, Jaimie of Tempe, AZ. Jim retired after a 41 year career with Mid-American Energy Co. After five years of retirement, he decided he wanted to do something different and became an elementary substitute teacher for 15 years, working until he became ill.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryl, daughter Jaimie and her husband, Peter Gosling, two grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Ellie and Bradley Gosling, his sister Dianne Whiting of Glendale, AZ, numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces, and nephews. He touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held on February 15th.
