Johnathan Wingert Obituary

Johnathan Wingert

September 25, 1990 - March 8, 2025

Johnathan Lawrence Wingert, 34, of Sioux City, a beloved son, devoted father, and a cherished brother, passed away tragically on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Country Celebrations, 5606 Hamilton Blvd., Sioux City, Iowa 51108.

Born on September 25, 1990, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Glenn and Cheryl (Lee) Wingert, Johnathan was a light to all who knew him, bringing warmth, laughter, and love into their lives.

Growing up in Sioux City, he graduated from North High School in 2009. After high school, he continued the tradition of farming with his family. Johnathan later transitioned into the construction industry, where he worked hard, showing dedication and commitment to his craft, just as he did with his family. He married Danielle Wosje on March 21, 2020, in Sioux City. To this union, Johnathan's beloved son, Ray, was born.

Johnathan had a zest for life that resonated deeply with his family and friends. He cherished the great outdoors, often venturing out to engage in activities such as fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed tractor pulls, and hanging out with friends. Above all these activities, his heart belonged to his beloved son, Ray. Their bond was irreplaceable, as they created countless memories together, filled with laughter and love.

Johnathan is survived by his dear son, Ray Wingert and Danielle Wingert of Le Mars. He is also mourned by his devoted parents, Glenn and Cheryl Wingert of Sioux City; alongside his siblings: Jacob (Marissa) Wingert of Sioux City and their children, Charlee, Jackson, Sloane, and William; sister, Josie (Bob) Ringlein of Loveland, Colo., with their daughters, Lillian and Madilyn; and sister, Jolene (Andy) Fergen in Sioux City, along with their children, Connor, Emma, and Collin. The family also includes his loving paternal grandmother, Alice Wingert; and maternal grandparents, Bonita Robinson and Jerry Combs; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will carry his spirit in their hearts forever.

Johnathan was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Tom Wingert, Aunt Jana Lee; and Uncle Tony Loutsch.

Although his time with us was far too brief, the impact he made on those around him is everlasting. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for his generosity, love for family, and passion for life. The world is a little dimmer without Johnathan, yet his bright spirit will shine through the memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
