Kathy Lewis Obituary

Kathy Lewis

July 12, 1949 - October 22, 2025

Kathy Lewis, age 76, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, at 5:12 a.m., surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2025, at Morningside Lutheran Church with Pastor Noah Ruppert officiating. Visitation, with family present, will begin at 9 a.m. Friday morning at the church. A private family interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the Celebration for Kathy later that day. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Noah's Hope Animal Rescue, Siouxland Humane Society, or St. Croix Hospice all located in Sioux City, Iowa.

Kathy was born on July 12, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Martin and Roberta Wilde. She married Vince Henrichsen in 1967, and together they shared three daughters, Carrie, Brenda, and Kristi.

In 2020, Kathy married Al Lewis. Together they enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Their time together was filled with laughter, companionship, and love.

Kathy loved nothing more than having her family come home to Sioux City. She planned delicious meals and cookouts, always making sure everyone's favorite dish was on the table. She filled their visits with fun: card games around the table, summer whiffle ball in the backyard, water balloon fights, and scavenger hunts. Kathy especially loved taking her grandchildren shopping, each one cherishing their special time with "Nana."

When family wasn't in town, Kathy could often be found hosting friends, whether for a simple get-together or a full-blown celebration. Her home was always filled with laughter, good food, and the warmth of her generous spirit.

Kathy was a talented hairdresser for over 45 years. Her clients became dear friends, truly an extension of her family. She had a gift for making people feel beautiful inside and out, and her salon chair was often a place of laughter, stories, and comfort.

She was a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and loyal friend. Kathy cherished time spent with Al, her daughters and grandchildren, finding joy in family gatherings, good conversation, and simple moments together.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Al; her loving daughters and their families, Tim and Carrie Azure of Wessington Springs, S.D., Brenda McNaughton of Orange County, Calif., and Justin and Kristi Point of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren: Celine and Montague Azure, Brady and Gabrielle McNaughton, and Georgia and Miles Point. Along with Al's children, Rachel Lewis of Kalamazoo, Mich., Jennifer Lewis of Bozeman, Mont., Josh Lewis of Norwalk, Iowa, and Zach Lewis of Lawton, Iowa, she spoiled all eight of his grandchildren like her own and they share fond memories of playing games and arm wrestling with her. Kathy is also survived by her sister, Rhonda (Frank) Ostrihonsky and brother, Mike (Sandy) Wilde.

Kathy's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lon (Sharon) Wilde of Sioux City.
