Sioux City

Ky Tran, 42, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at a local hospital.

A visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North. Burial will be 1 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ky Tran, the son of Thuan Tran and Giac Huynh was born April 1, 1978, in Soc Trang, Vietnam. The family moved to Sioux City 1987. Ky graduated from North High School in 1996, and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree.

In 2011, Ky was united in marriage with Dung Banh. He was employed at CF Industries as a production operator technician.

When Ky was younger, he practiced Tae Kwon Do. Later in life, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and children and watching football.

Ky is survived by his wife, Dung; his sons, Mason and Lucas; his parents, Thuan and Giac; brother, Phong (Sandy) Tran; brother, Tuyen (Kim) Tran; brother, Harvey (Dung) Tran; sister, Hanh (Phuc) Tran; brother, Hy (Huy) Tran; and many other nieces and nephews.
