Michael (Mick) Wayne Murray

April 8, 1940 - May 13, 2025

Michael Wayne Murray (Mick) was born on April 8, 1940, in Idaho and passed away in a care facility in Denver, Colo., on May 13, 2025. May he find a more peaceful and blessed beginning. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Faye Murray; his brother, Patrick; brother-in-law, C.D. Johnson; and sister-in-law, Connie Cook Murray. Left to share his memories are his sisters, Mary August, Linda Johnson, Maureen Young (Bob), Kathy Rehal (Jim), his brother, Gerry Murray; along with loyal friends, Sam Koval, Jett Mosher; and many loving nieces; nephews; and cousins. The past couple of years, Mick was saddled with Dementia and Parkinsons. He accepted the challenges with dignity and humor. He loved learning, reading, photography, walking, and helping others. He was a straight -A student, the President of the Debate Team, a dancer, a piano player, and an artist. He was creative, kind, friendly, humble, and funny. He attended public schools until senior year. After he transferred to Heelan High School, he was voted Senior Class President. After high school, he joined the Trappist Monastery at New Melleray Abbey in Dubuque, Iowa, as a cloistered monk, Brother Francis de Sales (we all thought he took that name because dad was a car salesman). He studied philosophy, theology, and the world religions in a life of prayer and sacrifice. He became an educator and a principal. He obtained two Masters. Mick was an Account Manager at Wells Fargo Bank for 30 years. He completed a four year study of the Bible. He taught himself Japanese and the art of their written language. He was generous and lived a simple life. He willingly shared his talents, time, and treasure, always putting others before himself. He will be missed and always remembered.
