Patricia Beauchene Obituary

Patricia Beauchene

Patricia "Pat" Louise Beauchene, beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Services will be Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Timothy Friedrichson officiating. Viewing and visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Patricia Louise Harbeck was born on January 22, 1928, in Sioux City, to Peter and Florence (Flurie) Harbeck. She graduated from Cathedral High School. After high school, she worked various jobs, including the Wincharger Corporation, where she would meet her future husband. Pat married Robert "Bob" Beauchene on May 15, 1954. The couple had 3 children, Ronald, Theresa, and Jane.

Known for her baked goods, especially her cookies and breads, Pat could often be found volunteering at church, helping neighbors, playing games with her family, deep in her garden or canning in her kitchen. Having lived nearly her entire life in Riverside, Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church from birth. She consistently helped serve food at seasonal banquets, funerals, bake sales, fish fries, and the annual peanut brittle drive for the Knights of Columbus. Last January, Pat was presented with an award for being the oldest member of the church and her dedicated service.

Survivors include: son, Ron (Mary) Beauchene of Omaha; daughters, Theresa Beauchene of Des Moines, and Jane (Jerry) Swanson of Cloudcroft, New Mexico; grandchildren, Syreeta, Tykeesha (Joe), Katie (Brad), Kevin (LeAnna), and D.J.; great-grandchildren, Jersie, Colton, Macey Jane, Addy Lou, Maddie, and Connor; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Leila and Iola; brother-in-law, Tom; and granddaughter, Taylia Marie.

Pat will be remembered for her giving spirit, her tell-it-like-it-is attitude, humor, and her skills in the kitchen. She will be dearly missed by many.
