Patricia J. Moyer
Mesa, Ariz., formerly Sioux City
Patricia J. Moyer, 80 of Mesa, Ariz., formerly Sioux City, went to her heavenly father on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022. Abiding by her wishes, her body was cremated and there will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.
She was born the daughter of Alex and Edna (Theesen) Eckert on Sept. 14, 1941 in Hastings, Neb. Patricia married Virgil L. Moyer on June 19, 1960. From there it was a roller-coaster ride. Living here and there and raising three young children. After Virgil's retirement in July 1996, they lived a nomadic lifestyle while traveling in their airstream motorhome with several of their grandchildren.
After Virgil's passing, she retired the motorhome lifestyle and moved to Arizona in 2014. There she found great joy in volunteering at the church and at the Noah's Ark Preschool, where she read to the children. She loved to cross-stitch and often had "stitchnbitch" sessions with other stitchers. Her other passion was making quilts for charity and donating them to local schools. She would still make her way to Iowa to visit grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who ever knew her. She was a blessing to her family and to all of her friends. God bless you and keep you. Until we meet again.
Patricia is survived by her children, Arienne Hoberg of Sioux City and Jeffrey (Chance) Moyer of Ames; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; son, LeeDennis; and son-in-law, Thomas Hoberg.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Noah's Ark Preschool, 2745 N. 32nd St., Mesa, Ariz., 85213.
