Paul J. Grause, 92, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Morningside Baptist Church with Reverend David Sowers officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with family present at 6 p.m. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Paul was born on June 25, 1930, at home in Osmond, Neb., to Joseph and Martha (McGee) Grause. He nearly completed high school, but was forced to leave his senior year due to his father passing away, and Paul took over the family farming business. Paul married Ann Arnett on Oct. 27, 1952, in Bronson, Iowa.
Paul farmed in the Sergeant Bluff area for over 40 years. He moved to Sioux City at the age of 65, where he joined the crew at John Deere in Lawton, where he worked until his retirement at age 85. Paul was a founding member of the Morningside Baptist Church, was extremely active, being a deacon, trustee, and church chairman.
Paul is survived by his children Linda Olsen and her husband Mike of Sioux City, Marcia Drieman of Warrenton, Mo., David Grause and his wife Cindy of Sioux City, Vicky Grause of Sioux City, and James Grause and his wife Joan of Clairton, Iowa; siblings Dora Boggs of Sergeant Bluff, Joe Grause of Vermillion, S.D., Gary Grause and his wife Mary of Sioux City, and Jerry Grause and his wife Dolly of Sargent, Neb.; daughter-in-law Connie Grause of Bismark, N.D.; two brothers-in-law Elgerd Arnett and his wife Marilyn of Sioux City, and Ronald Arnett and his wife Nancy of Shakopee, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ann in March of 2008; son Timothy; daughter Teresa; and two brothers Bob and Roy.
