Ronald G. Nocita, 77, of Sioux City passed away Friday, April 9, 2021, at a local hospital.
Private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.
Ronald Gary Nocita was born Dec. 24, 1943 in Sioux City, the son of Ross and Ilene (Gary) Nocita. Ron graduated in 1963 from Bishop Heelan High School. He worked as a sheet metal worker and later became a private pilot and then certified as a commercial jet pilot, flying for Jet Sun Aviation.
Ron is survived by his son, Nick Stamoulis of Florida; brother, Thomas (Jeanne) Nocita of Sergeant Bluff; sister, Kathy (Ken) Ayers of Wimauma, Fla.; nephew, Shawn (Daryl) Nocita of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; three nieces, Dr. Gwen Ayers of Dade City, Fla., Christina (Eric) Robley of Grand Marais, Minn., and Regina (Josh) Nocita-Angerman of Sergeant Bluff; cousin, Nicole Nocita of Sioux City; and his beloved dog, Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ilene in 2000; father, Ross in 1964; his sister, Marilyn in 1956; and nephew, Scott Prescott.
