Aaron Jacob "AJ" Stringer
SPRINGFIELD - Aaron Jacob "AJ" Stringer, 29, of Springfield passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Springfield on September 14, 1982, to Thomas and Kathryn (Walden) Stringer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James R. Conkrite and Kenneth and Mary Stringer.
AJ was a 2002 graduate of Riverton High School. He was formerly employed by County Market and Bunn-o-matic.
He is survived by his parents, Tom Stringer and Kathryn Walden both of Springfield; a brother, Todd Stringer of Springfield; grandmother, Barbara Conkrite of Springfield; several aunts and uncles, including Ruth Stringer, Litina Carnes and John Conkrite; and several cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church, with Reverend Stephen Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Cemetery.

I met AJ about 2 years ago & he always had such a joy about him. Such a friendly person. He didn't tell me he was sick til much later even though he was when we met. From the day I found out I continued to pray for him & his family. AJ I will never forget you & your smile. My thoughts are with your family <3

We didnt know AJ as well as others that have left you messages. However, we want to express our sympathy and send prayers your way. AJ was ALWAYS that guy that would make you laugh when you were at the gas station. His smile will be missed. May God be with you and your family at this difficult time.

Aj touched a special place in our hearts. He was so very upbeat and caring. He made taking care of him so easy. He will forever be in my heart and mind building forts, coloring, and tossing airplanes. I will miss him till we meet again someday!

A sibling may be the keeper of one's identity, the only person with the keys to one's unfettered, more fundamental self. Todd I know how close you where to your brother and for you and your mothers loss I am truly sorry.I used to talk to aj every day when he worked next door to me at that gas station.He truly had character and spririt.

I am so sorry for your loss. AJ had a way of brightening any day, even when he was so very sick from his treatments. I will miss the warm hugs he me gave every time I saw him. I know he was just my "patient" but sometimes some patients touch your heart more than others. And AJ was one of those patients for me.

I've seen A.J. a few times when he came to visit his mother at work. Even though he was sick, he was always friendly and upbeat. I know he'll be missed by his family and friends and I'll miss seeing him at thee as well.
