Barbara Poe
SPRINGFIELD - Barbara Poe, age 73, of Williamsville, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Allen Poe; a daughter, Robin Asafailo of Williamsville; two granddaughters, Jennifer (fiance Tory) Zoelzer of Quincy and Suzanne (Josh) Gasparini of Middletown; one grandson, Eric (fiance Cassie) Asafailo of Dawson; seven great-grandchildren, Austin & Rylie Cohn, Peyton Kaufmann, Isabella and Aidan Gasparini, and Madison & Dominic Asafailo. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jane Whiteside; a daughter, Penny; and a son, Edgar.
Barbara was born April 17, 1939 in Elgin, Illinois. She married Allen Poe on December 6, 1958. She graduated from Vienna High School in 1956. Barbara drove the school bus for over 38 years for the Williamsville School District. She was a life-member and past-secretary and treasurer of the Williamsville Volunteer Fire Department. She was a member of the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens where friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Funeral services will be held at the Williamsville Methodist Church at 10:00 on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Rev. Dick Piscatelli officiating. Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
