WAVERLY - Bert Duewer, 75, of Waverly, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Pleasant Hill Village.
She was born September 21, 1934, the daughter of Walter and Marie Kruse Henke. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Duane, on March 7, 2004.
She married Donald Duewer on January 4, 1959, in Farmersville.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Waverly.
Surviving are her husband, Donald; two sons, Darrell Timothy (Gail) Duewer of Edwardsville and Steven Wayne (Anik) Duewer of South Africa; one daughter-in-law, Annette Notman of Michigan; four grandchildren Allison, Ethan, Kyle and Ryan; two sisters, Dorothy Caudle and Helma (George) McPhail, both of Farmersville; one brother, Ervin (Laura) Henke of Virden; two nephews; and four nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Bramley Funeral Home, Auburn. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Pereira and Rev. Howard Shockey officiating. Burial in Waverly East Cemetery, Waverly.
Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Christ Lutheran Church, Waverly.
Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn in charge of arrangements.

I understand the heart felt sorrow your families are enduring at this time. Please accept my sympathy as I offer my condolence to you.
I grew up in rural Farmersville and knew the Henke family very well. If I am not mistaken, Bertha's father was constable in Farmersville for several years. I went to school with Ervin and the other sibilings. I remember Bertha, although I am 5 years younger.
God will comfort you during this time.
