EDINBURG - Bertha F. McConnell, 90, of Edinburg, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Taylorville Care Center. She was born on December 30, 1921 in Mechanicsburg the daughter of Charles Edward and Margaret Emma Hummel Harter. Bertha married Elmer McConnell on July 31, 1942 and he passed away in 1984. She was preceded in death by her ten brothers and sisters.

Survived by her son, Richard McConnell (Jeanette) of Carterville; two daughters, Janice Sanges of Kincaid and Gloria Hobbs (Richard) of Edinburg; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Erma Copenbarger (Dale) of Mt. Auburn; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at the Wilson Park Funeral Home in Edinburg. Burial will be in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery with memorial contributions being made to the Alzheimer's Association.
