Billie Solomon
DECATUR - Billie Solomon, 91, of Decatur formerly of Macomb, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Graveside services to celebrate Billie's life will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1655 E. Jackson Street, Macomb, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Food Bank 505 N. Randolph Macomb, IL 61455.
Billie was born March 5, 1921 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Evan and Nell (McGann) Chatterton. She is a retired caseworker from the Illinois Department of Human Services. She married Raleigh J. Solomon January 31, 1941. He preceded her in death November 2, 1987.
She leaves behind her daughters Sara Dillavou and husband David of Springfield and Cathy Towner and husband Robert of Decatur, grandchildren Chelsea Dillavou of Chicago, Heather McLennan and husband Brett of Chicago, Matthew Towner and wife Elizabeth of Decatur, and Megan Towner of Decatur, great-grandchildren Rosemary and James Towner of Decatur and Josie and Samuel McLennan of Chicago, brother Richard Chatterton of Arizona, sister-in-law Pauline Chatterton of Macomb, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and seven sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Imboden Creek Living Center and Harbor Light Hospice for all of their compassionate care.

I remember spending at least one Christmas at the Solomon's home. I felt so welcomed. And what awesome goodies Billie could bake! Every year from then on we exchanged Christmas cards. She was such a gracious lady. How fortunate for her that you all were near for the last few years!
