FARMERSVILLE - Catherine A. Lubben, 83, of Farmersville passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.
Catherine was born Dec. 1, 1925, a daughter of White and Dorothy (Barnett) Van Huss. She married Orville F. Lubben on Nov. 4, 1943, in Farmersville; he preceded her in death along with brothers, infant Charles, Carl, Jesse and Wilber Van Huss; and sister, Occie Gunn.
Catherine was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farmersville.
She is survived by a son, Jim D. (Patricia) Lubben of Springfield; a daughter, Dorothy (Howard) Seibert of Farmersville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, George (JoAnn) Van Huss of Girard and Paul (Ginny) Van Huss of Aurora; sisters, Betty (Amos) Rovey of Litchfield, Irene Kuntzman of Virden and Shirley (Bob) Pullen of Raymond.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at the Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home in Virden and one hour prior to services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farmersville. Burial will be in Rovey Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church or American Diabetes Association.

Kate was the best mother-in-law a woman could ever have. She did not show much emotion, that was her way. But she was filled with love and showed it in so many ways. She will be sadly missed.
