Charles DRAKE Obituary

Charles Lee Drake

CHATHAM - Charles Lee Drake, 75, of Chatham, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born November 15, 1937, in Lincoln, IL, to the late Kenneth and Nellie Manning Drake. Charles married Janet Heine, June 21, 1959, and they moved to Chatham to raise their family.

Mr. Drake worked for Bunn-O-Matic, Coca-Cola, and retired from Ball Chatham School District, where he had been a custodian for many years. The Drakes are members of Chatham Baptist Church, where he formerly was active in the Royal Ambassador's Program for youth. Charles was an avid fisherman and member of the Springfield Bass Club. He enjoyed using his mechanical skills to repair lawn mowers and to tinker with cars.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet; son, Michael (Cindy) Drake of Elkhart; daughters: DeDe Drake of Chatham and Kelly (Michael) Geraghty of Chesterfield, MO; grandchildren: Grace Geraghty of Chesterfield, MO, and Zachary Drake of Elkhart, IL.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Mr. Drake's family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon, Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Chatham Baptist Church, 1500 E. Walnut, Chatham, 62629; Rev. Milton Bost will officiate. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Chatham Baptist Church or Bethesda Lutheran Communities, 600 Hoffmann Drive, Watertown, WI, 53094.

Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, is serving the Drake family.
