Clara "Jeri"
Cordier
AUBURN, IL - Clara "Jeri" Cordier of Auburn, formerly of Chatham, Ill., passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born June 6, 1934, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Michael James and Elizabeth C. Flemming Murray. She married Bert L. Cordier on Sept. 20, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 2000.
Her parents and brother, Kermit, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cordier retired from the State of Illinois, Department of Revenue, as a tax analyst after many years of service. Jeri, along with her husband, Bert, owned and operated Chatham True Value Hardware Store. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Chatham.
She will be greatly missed by her family: son, Mike Cordier of Atwater, Ill.; daughters, Cathy Madaus (fiancé, Jim Scott) of Auburn and Kim Harden of Chatham; grandchildren: Dalton, Travis, Cole, Cori, Calvin and Quinn; brothers, James Murray of Buffalo and Thomas (Nancy) Murray of Germany; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeri was very influential in her grandchildren's lives; she went from 0-6 grandchildren in 6 years. She was a very giving woman, always taking care of others.
Cremation rites will be accorded before private family services. She will be laid to rest at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.

Mike, Kim, and Cathy, you and the children are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike, I will always remember the mornings your Mom and I spent at the kitchen table with our coffee and "cigs", while you and Larry played in the playpen. Seems like yesterday. Love to you all.
