Dean Partridge
SPRINGFIELD – Dean Partridge, 79, went home to the Lord in the early morning hours on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
He was born July 28, 1934, in Zanesville, Ohio, a son of Joseph and Rutha (Irvin) Partridge. He married Norma Ehlers on Oct. 29, 1955, in Tuscola.
He is survived by four children, Joseph Dean (Judy) Partridge of Springfield, Kim (Bill) Colbrook of Urbana, Tammy Shafer of LaPorte, Ind., and Rodney (Donna) Partridge of Urbana; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and a grandson, Shad Shafer.
Dean attended the University of Illinois. He worked in food sales all his life. After his retirement, he drove a charter bus all over the nation.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spent many hours visiting his friends at the Star 66 Road Ranger in Springfield.
He was a religious man and he loved his family.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 4, at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dean was a very nice Gentleman. I always called him Kenny Rogers. There was never a time when Dean wasn't smiling. He is now with all the Angels in Heaven. REST IN PEACE, you will be missed my friend.
