Debra Lacy
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Debra Lacy, 58, departed this life on July 8, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 14, 1955, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Rosetta and Mack Lacy Jr.
Ms. Lacy was a postal worker in Chicago for several years. She was a child care provider for many years, and she loved to cook. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing dominoes. She was a member of Precious Blood and Our Lady of Sorrow in Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Machell Lacy; father, Mack Lacy Jr.; sister, Darlene Lacy Fields; and brother, Bennie Lacy.
She leaves to cherish memories, her companion, King Wilson; one son, Milton Lacy of Springfield; two daughters, Edwina Lacy (husband, LaDrecaus Eddings) of Springfield and Millicent Lacy (husband, Timothy Minnor) of Springfield; three brothers: Michael Lacy of Springfield, Steven Lacy of Chicago and Stanley Lacy of Springfield; four sisters: Gerri Johnson (husband, Robert) of Chicago, Machelle Lacy of Chicago, Yolanda Lacy of Kansas City, Mo., and Tammy Lacy of Springfield; eight grandchildren: Chuckie Lacy, Stephanie Lacy, LaDreka Porter, Diamond Eddings, Montez Wright, Michelle Lacy, Monshay Wright and Montanae Wright; one great-grandchild, Terry Lewis Jr., all of Springfield; special loved ones including Milton Pickett, Rah-Kay Lacy, Anna McCray, and Barbara Hayes; special friend, Sarayah Gailes; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Walker Funeral Services, 2300 E. Cook St., Springfield, IL 62703. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Anton Godfrey officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
