Dear Mr. Saputo & family,
I would like to express my condolences on the passing of Mrs. Saputo. I can still remember meeting the two of you for the first time at your restaurant back in 1985. I was going through training and finishing the first of a three week stint in Springfield. Being Italian, I needed my Sunday pasta fix and was dining alone at Saputo's. I enjoyed my meal and proceeded to introduce myself to you and Mrs Saputo. The next thing I know, I'm sitting at your table and enjoying your company for a few additional hours that evening with an invitation to join the two of you of dinner a few days later. I also stopped in to see the two of you my last night in Springfield during that visit and was invited to dine with you and some friends from Canada that were coming into town to visit the two of you. When I declined, you and Mrs Saputo instructed your staff not to feed me until you came back from the airport and instructed your bartender to give me whatever I wanted. The two of you and your family really made this kid from Cleveland feel like part of the family and I will never forget that.
I haven't been back to Springfield since 1998, but I am glad that I was able to visit the two of you at your new home during that trip.
My family will keep you and your family in our prayers. God Bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I have not seen momma Saputo for a long time since I no longer live in Spfld. But I will never forget her. She always told me that she was my extra grandma and she always asked about my dad when we did see each other. She knew all of my dads side of the family and would tell me stories. She also shared recipes with me which I will always cherish. I will always be grateful that she was part of my life. I could not have asked for anyone better to call my extra grandma. I will miss her deepley. All my love to her and her family
