CHANDLERVILLE - George Edwin McCafferty, 53, of rural Chandlerville, passed away at his home at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010.
He was born October 31, 1956, in Peoria, to Walter Daniel and Mary Jean (Dantone) McCafferty Jr.
Mr. McCafferty is survived by one daughter, Brandell Rena (Sam) McCafferty Kays; four grandchildren, Kristian Joseph Kays, Hope Marie Kays, Harley Madison Kays, and Dominick Vayne Kays, all of Chandlerville; also surviving are two brothers, Daniel (Jane) McCafferty of Pleasant Plains and Bobby (Brandi) Brown of Havana; three sisters, Debra (Kenny) Baldwin of Pinkneyville, Jeannie (Brad) Stockham and Linda (Ed) Wilson, both of Havana; two half sisters, Carol (Terry) Monks and Connie (Jim) Berry, both of Pekin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Mr. McCafferty was a member of Faith Christian Family Church at Rushville. He had worked for Lyle Stone's farm for many years and for Stribling Farms in Ashland. He was also a graduate of Chandlerville High School.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sam and Brandell Kays for the benefit of his grandchildren through Petefish Skiles and Company Bank in Chandlerville.
