SPRINGFIELD, IL - Gerald R. Hutchinson, 81, departed this life on Friday morning, Oct. 9, 2015, at his home with his family by his side in Springfield, Ill.
He was preceded in death by parents, Gladys (Comley) and Herbert E. Hutchinson; stepmother, Addie (Stewart); and brother, Herbert A. Hutchinson.
Survivors include: wife, Loretta E. (Stewart) Hutchinson; sons, Gerald A. and Michael M. Hutchinson; granddaughter, Catherine E.; and grandsons, Michael M. and Gerald A. Hutchinson; brother, Richard Hutchinson; sister, Jean Hutchinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will convene Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, Ill., with Dr. Gregory L. Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.

Prayers are sent to the Hutchinson family on the lost of your loved one. Everytime I saw Gerald he greeted me with a Big hello and a Big smile. May the lord strengthen u all and may his peace abide with you. Gerald fought a long fight but he's @ peace with ur lord.
