Chatham, IL—Greg M. Stansbury, 40, of Chatham, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center.
Greg was born on November 2, 1977, in Springfield, the son of Greg D. Stansbury and Sharon Coplea Credille.
Greg attended Glenwood High School and was employed as a manager for Best Buy in Anchorage, AK. He previously worked at Half Price Books in Tacoma, WA and at Blockbuster in Springfield, IL. Greg loved his family and was a proud father of three boys. He was in several bands including, Mispent Youth and Package, where he wrote music, played bass, piano, and was an all-around musician. Greg enjoyed art, music, movies and was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his father, Greg D. Stansbury; grandparents; uncles; and cousins.
He is survived by his children, Aiden, Isaac, and Elijah Stansbury, all of Anchorage, AK; mother, Sharon Credille of Chatham; ex-wife, Shana Pickford-Garrels of Anchorage, AK; stepmother, Debra Stansbury of Fort Wayne, IN; siblings, Kristen Stansbury of Springfield, Ryan (Rachel) Stansbury of Chatham, Brittany Credille of Springfield, and Maria Stansbury of Fort Wayne, IN; niece and nephews, Kelly and Nickolas Ingram of Athens and Joe, Dylan, and Ian Stansbury of Chatham; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center Chatham prior to ceremonies.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham.
Celebration of Life: 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Sangamon Prairie Reception Center, 8865 State Route 4, Chatham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society—The Greater Illinois Chapter, 525 West Monroe Street Suite 1510, Chicago, IL 60661. Proceeds contribute to Multiple Sclerosis research.
