SPRINGFIELD - James "J.D." Henry Doggett, 60, of Springfield passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 10:03 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born on January 30, 1949, in Greenview to Malcolm and Grace Bless Doggett. He married Peggy Farley on August 16, 1974.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Doggett of Springfield; a daughter, Terri (Todd) Davis of Varna, IL; two sisters, Patty (Larry) Boyer of South Gate, CA; Nancy (Kenny) Stroisch of Greenview; a brother, Dale (Kendra) Doggett of Greenview; and a granddaughter, Breanna Turley.
His parents; four brothers; and one sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Doggett worked as an engineer for the Illinois State Police in Springfield. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Springfield.
He enjoyed camping at Deer Park with his family for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Knowing jim goes way back to the trailer court in greenview. When terri was borne to just goofing around we had some good times together. Jim was so happy when he met you Peggy. then just on top of the world when you had Terri. I have wonderful memories of the good ol days.

Very sorry to hear about Jim. He was a common sight around Franklin and as solid as the statue of Ben. He always had a smile and friendly word for everyone and was more then happy to let it be known if a camping trip was in the works.
Let's hope God has a great spot picked out for Jim to rest and will help you and your family through the pain.
He was a great guy and I know he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Peg & Nancy, I use to work at FLIC & got to know Jim really well. He would always talk about going camping with you Peg. I worked with Nancy & she introduced me to her brother. What a brother he was!
