Jerry L. Bumgarner
CONCORD - Jerry L. Bumgarner, 76, of Concord, died Saturday, October 2, 2010, at his residence. He was born December 10, 1933, in Dawson, the son of Clifford and Christina Burch Bumgarner. He married Beverly Moomey on November 5, 1955, in Rochester, and she survives.
Mr. Bumgarner is also survived by five sons, Rick Bumgarner of Jacksonville, Randy Bumgarner of Mustang, Oklahoma, Mike Bumgarner of Concord, Mark (wife, Cheryl) Bumgarner of Jacksonville, and Jason Bumgarner of Concord; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Sandy (husband, Jim) Carroll of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Margie Dunham and Betsy Tanner, preceded him in death.
Mr. Bumgarner was a union electrician for over 50 years, and a member of I.B.E.W. #193. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Bumgarner was a member of Dawson United Methodist Church, Beardstown Elks Lodge #1007, Jacksonville Moose Lodge #865, and the Arenzville American Legion. He enjoyed all sports, hunting and fishing, playing cards and marbles, and yard work and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg. Family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Arenzville American Legion Building Maintenance Fund or the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

I loved staying with Uncle Jerry as a young boy. He was the best uncle a boy could ask for and I loved him very much and will miss him greatly. Aunt Bev and boys...I love you and offer my condolences to you. Love, "Brother"
