Johanna Leikvold Obituary
Springfield, IL—Johanna Mary Leikvold, 31, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018, due to a car accident.
Johanna was born on June 19, 1987, in Champaign, IL. The first-born child of married couple Daniel Leikvold and Karen Guger. She was preceded in death by her father who passed away in 2014. Now the two will enjoy their time together in Heaven. Johanna's brother, Carsten Leikvold, and mother, Karen Guger, will hold them both in their hearts forever.
Johanna attended grades K-12 in Chatham, IL and graduated from Glenwood High School. She then went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Lincoln Land Community College. Her future plans were to attend law school and focus on Environmental Law in California among her beloved Redwoods.
Johanna was employed at Pier 1 for 8 years and then was employed at Zelle Title Company whom she loved working for.
During her free time, she enjoyed chatting with her friends and talking their ears off. She also enjoyed reading, seeing movies, cooking, listening to music, working on puzzles, viewing the midnight sky, and spending time with her beloved cat, "Kitty, Kitty."
Visitation and Celebration of Life: Family will receive friends from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 p.m.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2301 East Lake Shore Dr., Springfield, IL 62712.

I was so impressed with Johanna, and so saddened to hear that she is gone. I loved chatting with her about art, books and food. She was so bright and articulate and funny. We shared a deep love of animals and her eyes lit up when she told us about a wildlife rehabilitation center she had visited, or when she brought Kitty out for us to pet and admire. I wish I could have gotten to know her better. She was beautiful and generous. She will be greatly missed.

I'm So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Johanna at work. Unfortunately I didn't get to work with her while she was there. I could tell right away that she was a sweet soul. I thought of sunshine when I met her, beautiful blonde hair and lovely bright smile, despite everything that she was going through. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
