John was quite simply my best friend growing up in Atlanta. We got involved in a multitude of shenanigans and miscues including dropping a gallon of red porch paint his mother entrusted us to pick up at Gilbert“s and bring home. That section of sidewalk near the old railroad depot remained red for years.
As Bud said, John was a gifted musician (trumpet first chair), outstanding student, talented athlete (started on one of the few Atlanta basketball teams to ever beat Lincoln) and so much more.
Although we largely lost touch after I moved away my freshman year, John always remained my close friend and mentor in my heart.
Godspeed good buddy,
Joseph King

My sincere condolences to John's Family. We grew up as kids together only a few blocks apart in Atlanta. We attended schools (grade and high) for all 12 years of our Atlanta schooling. John was a gifted athlete and a fine musician. I am honored to be able to have called him My friend .

Our condolences to the Quiram family. We met John at Crystal Lake Michigan at a Melonseed Regatta. I always enjoyed his humor and jokes. He had many sailing friends and he will be missed. Dennis and Kathy Rhoades, Bellbrook, Ohio
