Roy McAfee Obituary

CHATHAM - Roy Allen McAfee, 65, of Chatham, died at 12:08 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his residence.

He was born July 1, 1943, in Springfield, the son of Daniel and Josephine Gibson McAfee.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Richard and David McAfee.

He is survived by a daughter Royce (husband, David) Raiit of Australia; son, A.W. (wife, Maureen) McAfee of Utah; mother, Josephine McAfee-Hammond of Barclay; sister, Judy Campbell of Springfield; two

brothers, Gene McAfee of Springfield and Jerry McAfee of Lincoln; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a resident of the Springfield area most of his life and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman and fisherman. He was a U.S. Army veteran

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Services begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with

Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted

Memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Fund.
