SPRINGFIELD - Rubyann Gerding, 70, of Springfield died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at her residence.
She was born March 16, 1938, in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence and Goldie Woodruff Huffman. She married Charles "Red" W. Gerding on July 2, 1970; he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Donald Earl Huffman.
Mrs. Gerding, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was a farmer. She loved the farm and her animals and enjoyed gardening. She loved Elvis Presley.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheri (husband, John L.) Banks of Cantrall and Linda R. Martin of Springfield; two sons, Rex Allen Clouse of Chatham and Todd "Joe" Martin of Cape Coral, Fla.; four grandchildren, William Banks and Leslie Banks of Cantrall, Zachary (wife, Lindsey) Horn of Springfield and Taylor Martin of Cape Coral; and a great-grandchild, Logan Daniel Lee Horn.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

I have such fond memories of Ruby she was full of energy and love. She will be so missed by many. My heart heart and prayers go out to her family. I am so sorry I didn't hear sooner I would have liked to come to her service.
