I was sorry to hear of Mrs. Killen's passing. We lived across the street from the Killens on Kenyon Drive. They were wonderful people. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

Ruthie Killen was like a second mom while we were growing up on Kenyon Drive. I will always remember her laugh and smile. God bless her for putting up with all of us! She was a Rockford girl for a while just like me. Rest in peace dear friend.

I'm grateful to Kent Starkey for letting me know of Ruth's passing. I wanted to send a message of comfort and strength to the family for myself as well as my folks, Lois & Merle Hendrix, long-time, across the street neighbors on Kenyon Drive... -- I've many fond memories of being in the wings when Ruth & Bill enjoyed visits on my folks' screened porch (usually "Carlo Rossi" was involved) - can still hear Ruth's hearty laugh and Bill's deep, soothing voice... Mom always enjoyed caring for sweet "Trinka" during vacation times... -- Of course, I remember hanging with Pat, Kathy, Sue Ann and Mary Beth around the neighborhood and if memory serves, at least one summertime outing to Lake Springfield... Hugs all around - may you find comfort in all your wonderful memories... Christine Zipps (a/k/a Sue Hendrix Collins)
