VIRDEN - Sandra A. "Sandy" Kirby, 61, of Virden passed away at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Sunrise Manor, Virden.
Sandy was born Dec. 19, 1948, in Melrose, MN, a daughter of Patrick and Irene (Gillies) Smith.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Smith, and brothers, Terry and Richard Smith.
Sandy is survived by daughters, Diane (Greg) Roberts, Peoria Heights and Kimberly (Rick) Cotterman, Virden; mother, Irene Engel, Excelsior Springs, MO; brother, Michael Smith of Excelsior Springs, MO; sisters, Lillie Glover of Shawnee, KS and Patty Webster, Excelsior Springs, MO; 4 grandchildren, Taylor and Kylee Roberts and Allison and Cameron Cotterman; in-laws, Jack and Bettie Kirby Sr., Virden; and brother-in-law, Michael Kirby, Virden; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home, Virden and funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tues. Dec. 29, 2009, at Sacred Heart Church, Virden. Burial will be in Virden Cemetery.
