I have known Brother Bill for many years. I was a member of Carlinville Southern Baptist Church when he was here. In fact I grew up with him in church. He will always hold a special place in my heart and my families, as he watched my brother and I grow up. He was a wonderful person who will be missed.

It was my privilege to help nurse Bill back to health following his heart surgery many years ago in ICU at St. John's Hospital. So typical of Bill, he returned to St. John's to teach nurses about heart surgery from his patient perspective. He truly knew that it was far better to give than to receive. Years later I always enjoyed his spontaneous visits to our nursing unit when he was in town to check on a member of his congregation. Surely he has fought the fight and won the race first won for him by his Savior.
