THREE OAKS - Adeline Sheldon, 93, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at her daughter's home in Fairfax, Virginia. Adeline was born April 9, 1920, in St. Joseph, Michigan, daughter of Ernest and Mamie (Fuller) Geipel. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1937. She attended Twin City Business College and then worked at the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company, where she met her future husband. Adeline married Lt. Frank C. Sheldon on June 19, 1943, and was able to accompany him to posts on the east coast and in Yuma, Arizona. After the war they lived in Chicago for three years. From that point they made their home in Three Oaks, raising their family and working side by side in Frank's CPA office where Adeline was the office manager. She was active in the community and brought Girl Scouting to Three Oaks. Adeline was involved in the Three Oaks Book Club, PTA, Little League, Cub Scouts, and other youth activities. She was a member of the Chikaming Country Club for nearly 60 years and was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, singing in the choir for over 60 years, most recently this past October. She enjoyed playing a round of golf, a hand of Bridge, her bowling team, and traveling the world. She loved her family and her friends were important to her, especially Dolores Smith and Rebecca Sue Pleimling. Survivors include her daughters, Suzanne (Alan) Levy of Fairfax and Julie (Jeff) Olson of Sheridan, WY; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Bueter of Baldwin, Michigan; grandchildren, Chatterson Sheldon of Three Oaks, Kaitland Price of Lander, WY, Alison Price of Phoenix, Benjamin Levy of Fairfax and Joseph (Candace) Levy of Fitchburg, WI; and great-grandchildren, Anastasia Sheldon and Brandon Sheldon. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Steven J. Sheldon; sisters, Mary Buesing and Leona Ziegert; half sisters, Elsie Hamilton and Amanda Geipel; half brothers, Elmer and Ernest Geipel; and a niece, Kathie Mueller. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, March 17, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Three Oaks. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Pobocik Funeral Home, with the Rosary recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
