Danny Collins Obituary

Mount Vernon - Danny Ray Collins,76, died June 23rd 2025 after a second battle with cancer at Skagit Valley hospital. He was born on April 27th 1949 in Shelby Montana, the son of Eugene and Betty Collins.

Dan graduated from Burlington Edison High School, class of 1968.

He worked for Hansen's Furniture in Mount Vernon in his early working career followed by various sales positions in years to come.

He was a sports fan who loved watching his boys, his grandchildren and his niece and nephew play their sports. He never missed a Husky, Seahawk or Marinier game.

He was an avid fisherman in his retirement years and loved fishing on the Skagit River.

His son Gregg Collins preceded him in death in 2021. He is survived by his two sons, Kevin Collins and his fiancé Stephanie Esparza of Mount Vernon and Scott Collins of Las Vegas, daughter in law Kati Collins of Mount Vernon. Grandchildren, Kain Copps Collins, Owen Collins, Kaydn Collins, Keegan Collins and Bella Esparza. Brother Allen Collins and wife Pam. Nephew Brent Collins and wife Mandy and their children Olivia and Brady. Niece Krissa Maxwell and husband Josh. 1st wife, Barb Murphy and 2nd wife, Rusty Collins.

Danny and I went through grade school and high school together from the time he arrived from Montana. I always considered Danny to be my friend and one of the "good guys" in the world. I thought that as I knew him in school, and will always remember him as such.....
