David Crowe Obituary

Mount Vernon - David Lee Crowe, 74, of Mount Vernon, WA, entered into rest on August 3, 2021, following a courageous battle with his health. He came into the world on February 11, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lillian and James Crowe.

Following graduation from Shawnee Mission West in Overland Park, KS, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy (Jan. 1966- Oct. 1969). Dave was stationed in San Diego and Alameda, CA, Whidbey Island and Bremerton, WA and aboard the USS Ranger CVA/CV-61, where he received a good aviation background.

While at Naval Airstation Whidbey Island, he met the love of his life at a USO/Western WA.U. dance in 1968. He married Kathleen LaFleur in 1971 and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They resided in Olathe, KS, Seattle and Mount Vernon, WA. Dave was employed with the Boeing Co. for 30 years, where he worked on AWACs, 707, 727, 737, 747, 757,767 and 777, retiring prior to the 787 dreamliner. He was very proud of being part of the Boeing legacy and treasured his relationships with his co-workers.

David's passion was golf and he tried to play everywhere he vacationed. He also enjoyed barbecuing, conversing with his Facebook family and friends and making wind chimes in the garage. He gave these out to anyone who would take one. He was an avid Seahawk's fan, although never forgetting his Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

David is survived by his wife Kathleen of Mount Vernon; his sister Deborah Guerrero of Kansas City; a nephew Andrew Guerrero (Bailey); a niece Rebecca Williamson (Matt); grand-nephews Isaiah, Robert and Quincy Williamson; half-brothers Steve Madsen of Palm Springs and Larry Woosley of UT. He leaves behind many cousins including Linda Gilham, Gary Bryan, Kathy Heptig, and Janet Congdon.

Dave was preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Noreen Bryan; parents James and Lillian Crowe Isley; step-father Jack Isley; uncle Robert (Bob) Bryan and aunt Frieda; and brother-in-law Ned Guerrero.

A special thanks to our neighbors Bill Eyman, David Lorente, and the Schwehm family. You have always helped when help was needed.

There will be a private burial at Fern Hill Cemetery in Anacortes, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to N.O.A.H. Center, 31300 Brandstrom, Road, Stanwood, WA 98292 or your charity of choice.

I worked with Dave at Boeing in Renton, and he always made me smile because he was very outspoken and opinionated ...I am so happy to have had him as a friend because he was such a good man.....my condolences to you Kathy for his loss....

David is my oldest cousin, I am the youngest in the family. David used to tell me I was scared of him when I was a baby, I imagine it was his loud boisterous laugh! I will miss hearing his stories of our family. I have fond memories of visiting David in Seattle, meeting him for a vacation in Reno, and cruising with him and Kathy. Rest In Peace. Love, Janet
