Denise Hoverson Obituary

Anacortes - DENISE LOURAINE HOVERSON Obituary

November 16, 1955 to August 29, 2024

Denise Hoverson, a skilled local business woman, a strong hearted mother and recent grandmother passed away on August 29, 2024 at her home in Anacortes. She was surrounded by loved ones and her hand was held as she released her last breath.

Denise Hoverson worked many professions through the decades: waitress, caregiver, legal secretary, bookkeeper, business owner and property manager. She was brave and wise. She spent her professional life working and dealing with all manner of people both good and bad. On top of that she somehow found time to be an amazing mother. Denise enjoyed fine dining, old friends, travel through the Midwest, Hawaii, and of course her dogs.

Denise and her younger brother Steve Hoverson were born in Livermore, CA. They moved to Anacortes, WA with their parents Rodger & Willene Hoverson (deceased) in 1968. A teenager then, Denise attended public school here and graduated Anacortes High School, class of 1973. She has several surviving middle / high school friends that live in the region. As a child Denise kept many exotic pets including gopher snakes, ducks and ferrets. She enjoyed cruising around Anacortes on her motorcycle. Rodger Hoverson was a hardworking body and fender man. He owned and managed the Sound Body Shop in downtown Anacortes in the 1980s. Willene was a housewife and was also quite skilled in various arts.

Denise is survived by her loving and devoted husband Larry Perl. They married on September 12, 2012 on the Truckee River. Also surviving, her oldest son Chris Ellis and her middle son Stephen (Rick) Ellis. Denise's youngest son Ross Tibbles deceased on December of 2020. Denise was very proud of her grandson Maxwell David Ellis Schmidt born on January 2023 and he is as cute as he is a handfull. Denise was fond of her Chinese-American daughter-in-law Shuli Ellis. Denise had a Chinese grandson-in-law as well, Zhao Long, whom Denise sadly never had the chance to meet.

Denise strongly expressed that she did not want any funeral services. If you knew Denise Hoverson you are welcome to contact her surviving family. Her cell phone, email account and Facebook page will be monitored periodically.
