Doyle W. McCalib

1943 - 2025

Burlington - Doyle W. McCalib, 81, Burlington WA passed peacefully at his home with his wife Marlene at his side on April 4, 2025. He was born 6/18/1943 in Sedro-Woolley WA to John and Gladys McCalib and grew up in the Lyman community. He enlisted and served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in December of 1965 he was then active in the Army Reserve, Air National Guard and the Army National Guard for an additional 10 years.

He married the love of his life, Marlene Hansen on April 9, 1976 and they resided in homes from Snohomish to Whatcom county and eventually settled in Bow, WA.

Doyle was active in the community and was a volunteer firefighter in the various communities that he resided in. He also served as a volunteer coach for Little League Baseball in Burlington WA. He enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping and riding ATV's with his wife.

He retired in 2008 after 30 years of service from the State of WA Military Dept. where he did building maintenance work.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, daughter Megan McCalib, son John McCalib the status of daughter Stacey Bradford is unknown. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Ron) Holmes.

Grandchildren include Nicholas Bradford (Cheyenne), Jeffery Bradford, Mitchell Bradford, Christopher Bradford, Abel Bradford, Taylor Guttormson and Colton McCalib. Great grandchildren include Emerson Bradford, Wesley Bradford, Saber Bradford, Colton Bradford, Serena Bradford and Sylas Miller. He was also survived by various nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys, brothers Wayne Bishop, Dale McCalib and sister Betty Bradley.
