EULALIA RUIZ Obituary

June 16, 1934-
January 12, 2017

Eulalia "Lala" Ruiz, 82 of Mount Vernon peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, January 12, 2017.

She was born on June 16, 1934 in Lyford, Texas to Isidro Reina and Trinidad Rodriguez.

She attended school in San Perlita, Texas.

On September 3, 1948 she married Antonio "Tony" Ruiz and began their family together. They settled in La Conner where she worked at the Lighthouse Inn for many years and later moved to Mount Vernon.

Lala had a contagious smile and laugh. She enjoyed being with her family, collecting turtle figurines and was a casino enthusiast.

She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Lala is survived by her husband, Antonio "Tony" Ruiz; her seven children, Angela Martinez (Ricardo), Mary Fuentes (Julian), Richard, Roy (Judy), Hopie, Anita Smith (John), and Gloria Roy (Jack); a sister, Frances Stone; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Guadalupe "Lupe" Guzman.

Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Kern Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. and graveside services will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

She was the matriarch of one of the nicest families in LaConner. I am so sorry for this loss. She will live on in our memories and her children's hearts and eyes. Bless this whole family in this time of loss. What a great family.
